Fazenda JR sits at an average of 1200 meters and is planted in Bourbon and Catuai. They have a wet mill onsite and coffee is both patio and machine dried. The dry fragrance has a sweet scent of almond brittle candy, caramelized butter and sugar sprinkled with roasted almond. Hot water brings on a scent of brown sugar and candied pecan, and a smell of roasted barley comes up in the steam. At City+, the flavor goes between dark sugars and roasted nuts and grains. There's notes of Umami tea, and dried peach, and a bittersweet cacao note builds with roast. Full City roasts have hefty body and sweetness, a culmination of fruit and nut in the middle, and the finish is like fruited dark chocolate. Dark roasts will make a great single origin espresso too.
