Ordering Information

Ordering: Our goal is to serve small and medium-sized roasting businesses. We only sell vacuum-packed bricks of unroasted green coffee. We price the total brick (but have the per pound price next to it). The vacuum packed brick sizes can differ for particular lots,  because some have been vacuum packed in the origin country before export, and some are vacuum packed here in California, after shipping to us in traditional jute bags or a Grain-Pro lined jute bag. We cannot guarantee that vacuum packed bricks stay entirely rock solid in shipping. We are learning as we go with shipping vacuum-sealed packages but expect that one vacuum-sealed brick sent in a box via UPS from Oakland to Chicago will get more wear and tear and vibration than it gets from Kenya to California.  Opening our Kenyan shipment, which was packed incredibly well by the way, we have come across some packages that have gone a bit soft.  Even if the vacuum seal is soft, the nitrogen flush ought to keep oxygen out.  If UPS really damages a package and beans are leaking out, well, that really is shipping damage and we can file a claim.

As far as placing an order, it's as simple as putting items in the shopping cart and checking out. Payment by various credit card methods is accepted. In general, we do not offer terms, but if you are making a large order and have an ordering history, contact us at coffeeshrub@gmail.com to discuss the options.

We can provide certifications for organic coffees, just ask.

Shipping: Our main method of shipping is UPS Ground. Shipping costs are paid by you, just like any online shopping cart purchase, but we leverage our UPS discount to lower the prices you see listed upon checkout.  We are happy to ship using your UPS account number as well - chose "Freight Collect" from the shipping menu and add your UPS account number in the comment field.  Larger orders may qualify for freight pricing. We have no packaging or handling charges. Since we are focused on business to business relationships, the minimum order is $150, which is usually satisfied by the purchase of 2 coffee selections.

We welcome international customers, but may need to confirm your identity and address before payment and shipment. We pass along our UPS discount to our international customers as well, as shown in the prices quoted upon checkout.  In general, we have seen prices from $1.50 to $2.00 per pound to Canada. Shipping to Taiwan and Asia has been $2.50 per pound and up.  We will ship to any country, but have better shipping discounts to some countries than others. As a rule, the per pound price drops the more you ship at once.
